The CRKT Shinbu Tactical Knife was designed by James Williams for specific use as a specialized tactical tool for military personnel and special forces operators. Made for use in tight situations - literally, when CQB is so close that firearms cannot be brought into play - the CRKT Williams Shinbu Knife draws on the military history and tradition of close quarters swords like the sailor's cutlass and the Japanese wakizashi. The CRKT Shinbu Knife has a dual grind Tanto blade constructed from YK-30 high-carbon steel, with a high satin finish and a long, tapered tip grind. At 13.3 ounces and a 9.25" blade, the CRKT Shinbu also offers a solid amount of heft. Cord-wrapped handles with ray skin underlays give the user an excellent grip in all conditions. This blade is designed for multiple carry options depending on the choice of the operator.

The CRKT Shinbu Knife includes a custom-fitted Kydex sheath with a convertible belt mounting system. The sheath has detents which grip the knife securely and wide entry lips which allow the knife to be returned to the sheath with one hand. A belt clip can be attached with the Chicago screws provided for vertical carry. There is also a quick-release retaining strap.
