Does this fit the original without drilling, or would a gunsmith need to drill holes in the original receiver?

The 1903-A3 should already be tapped and the offset in height between the two receiver holes has already been built into the mount. Just be sure to measure the distance between the tapped receiver holes is the same on the mount BEFORE YOU BUY.
