Funny, but all it says in the instructions is each click moves the impact of the bullet either up or down depending on the direction of the arrow. I guess it's a trial and error adjustment. I have one of these scopes and I guessed at approximately 1/4" per click at 100 yds. It did not take me very long to adjust to the point of aim that I desired.. I've got this mounted on a CVA Scout in 45-70 and have approximately 20 rounds through the rifle. Scope seems to be holding zero just fine under the recoil of the 45-70. Only negative I had is the base mounting screws are soft and the allen head rounds out if tightened too much. I replaced the screws with metric screws from a local hardware store and although the screw heads would not fit in the recess of the mount I was able to put washers under the screw heads and tighten the scope on the picatinny rail very tightly.
