Mounting and use of KonusPro AS34

Written on Jan 16, 2021

I don't normally purchase such an inexpensive scope, however, the Konus brochure came in the box with my new CVA Scout in 25-70 so I decided to check them out. I figured for the price, I couldn't go wrong due to the return policy of Optics Planet. If I didn't like it, I could return it. The only negative I had with this scope is the mounting screws were allen head type and they were soft steel and tended to round out if tightening pressure was placed on them with a good allen wrench. I replaced the screws with metric screws obtained from my local hardware store and got them long enough to put a washer under the allen head because it was too large to go into the base recess. This worked just fine and I was able to tightly mount the scope. I've got the gun shooting 2" high at 100 and the scope is holding zero after at least 20 rounds of 45-70. The etched reticle is a plus and the illuminated reticle works very well. Field of view at 2-4 power is adequate but narrows down at 6 power with some parrallux becoming evident at 6 power. All in all the scope is worth the money and perfect on a relatively short range rifle.
I would buy it again.

results of zeroing in 5-25x50 veracity scope

Written on May 27, 2016

I mounted this scope on a Savage bull barrel, thumb hole stock, 22-250 using Burris tactical rings. My first shot at 25 yds. determined what I needed to dial in in order to get me on paper at 100 yds. My first shot at 100 yds was 4" high and 1" right. I put in 16 clicks of down and 4 clicks of left and then placed my next 3 shots in the bull with a group that you could cover with a dime. The adjustments on this scope were right on and the glass is crystal clear through out the magnification range.
I am very pleased with this scope and in fact did buy another one 4-20x50 and mounted it on my Browning A-Bolt in .270. Its clarity is right up there with Nightforce and at about 1/3 the price.
