I really wanted to love this scope but there is a single fundamental flaw in the design that made it a no go (assuming you have no problem with its significant weight) - the light that illuminates the level shines back toward the shooter, or at least mine did. It's not so bright that you can't acquire your target, but it's distracting, and in a battle situation at night I'm pretty sure your enemy could see the light. I just couldn't use it, returned and got an Atibal XP8 instead.
Cons:
- Light (red/green) reflects back at shooter

I don't normally purchase such an inexpensive scope, however, the Konus brochure came in the box with my new CVA Scout in 25-70 so I decided to check them out. I figured for the price, I couldn't go wrong due to the return policy of Optics Planet. If I didn't like it, I could return it. The only negative I had with this scope is the mounting screws were allen head type and they were soft steel and tended to round out if tightening pressure was placed on them with a good allen wrench. I replaced the screws with metric screws obtained from my local hardware store and got them long enough to put a washer under the allen head because it was too large to go into the base recess. This worked just fine and I was able to tightly mount the scope. I've got the gun shooting 2" high at 100 and the scope is holding zero after at least 20 rounds of 45-70. The etched reticle is a plus and the illuminated reticle works very well. Field of view at 2-4 power is adequate but narrows down at 6 power with some parrallux becoming evident at 6 power. All in all the scope is worth the money and perfect on a relatively short range rifle.
I would buy it again.

Very nice scope for close range shooting rifle. Very clear optics, easy to adjust, easy to install on a picatinney or weaver rail system. Illuminated reticle for early morning or dusk shots. Very pleased

The KonusPro 2-6x28mm Illuminated SFP Mil-Dot reticle scope has far exceeded my expectations! Easy to zero. Easy to adjust the zoom. Easy to acquire the target. And the glass is clear. This scope has held zero since I installed it over 6 months ago and after taking to the range on several shooting / load testing occasions. (This scope is mounted on a .44 Mag Ruger Carbine.) Other perks to note are: (a) the built in bubble level, (b) the etched reticle, and (c) the ability to illuminate the reticle if the circumstances dictate the need. I cannot wait to take this rifle/scope deer hunting next fall.
If I had but one upgrade request for Konus on the scope, it would be for them to provide the ability to ‘reset zero’ with the adjustment knobs.

I mounted the scope and quickly determined that I needed a riser. After installation of the riser the scope height was perfect. The clarity of the scope at all distance setting is excellent The different colors of the cross hair (red or blue)are interesting, not sure how they will be used. Adjusting the turrets is a little tricky, they must be pulled outward to adjust for horizontal and vertical distance.
Pros:
- clear and bright, good fildofview
- good field of view, clear and bright
Best Used for:
- Hunting 10yd - 300yds
- hunting target practice
