An economical and space-saving polystyrene block for storing PCR media or other reaction-tube materials at room temperature. The block has an outer hexagonal shape, which is easily recognizable by its concave base. On the other hand, the spheroid-shaped bottom allows gases to be trapped at all times, which prevents contamination of samples. The removable outer hexagonal side walls of the block are made of an extremely tough and abrasion-resistant polystyrene material. Perforated both sides of the block allow laminar flow through the tubes, facilitating exchange of media without the need for frequent tube changes. The insulated copper heat cable allows for heat distribution without the need for ventilation, which results in less drying of the media. The inner wall of the block is made of an extremely heavy-duty nylon, which ensures that the block will not absorb any unwanted moisture and keep the block dry.
