I bought the 42 inch case, and my rifle will not fit in it. The case is not 42 inches, it's only 40 inches. But it is a good case, so I used it for a shorter gun that I had. Don't order it thinking your gun will fit if it's longer than 40 inches.

I have two Henry rifles. A twenty two lever action and a 45 colt lever action. Both are less than thirty six inches long. They fit great in the thirty eight inch case. The zippers are smooth. And the case is well padded.
