I was skeptical when I purchased this. It does add a little mass to the front end of the slide. May require a different recoil spring if too light/heavy. No cycle or FTF with a light spring and 230 grain ball at 950 FPS. I did have some slight fittin...

To ensure consistent performance, the Presma 1911 Full Size Handgun SSMB Muzzle Brake Attachment is fitted with an 11-degree angled port that redirects muzzle blasts away from your shooting hand. Simply install this device, and you'll greatly reduce recoil while boosting your shot accuracy. Unlike other compensators, this one is designed to fit Colt-spec 1911s with a barrel OD between .577in-581in, so you can retrofit these brakes to work with 38 or 9mm chamberings.
