what batteries do these use? also i looked up the pro 300 on proears.com website and these were contoured so is this the gold series or something? Expert Answer

This uses N-size alkaline batteries. Manufacturers frequently only send us one image or set of images for an entire product line, so the images on the product page are not always of the exact item. These are the contoured Pro 300 models.

These are great protection for the handgun range, especially indoor. Fast response time for noise reduction. They are bulky for long gun shooting. Downside is a battery use that is more expensive. Overall a good product....

First time I tried these was on an outside shooting range with police officers in qualification. It accentuated the sound perfectly, but it did not deaden the noise any better than my $20 pair. DISSAPOINTED!

Most elect. earmuffs are 22-23 nnr, I was looking for something a bit higher and these do fit the bill. However they are bulky and can cause you to turn your head slightly when shooting rifle in order to accommodate face/comb/stock.
