Due to the delicate nature of the device attaching it to a firearm may not be advisable. A dedicated night vision scope that is rated to handle the recoil of a firearm would be a better option.
They are rated for firearms use, though they need to be paired with a NV-compatible red dot. Also, while firearms rated, I wouldn't mount them on heavy recoil firearms. They are rated for the 5.56 M4, and similar, civilian, AR-15s. Putting one on, say, a SCAR-17, known for its abusive nature to optics, is not recommended, nor on something like a heavy magnum rifle.
It would be fine to mount on a AR/5.56 platform we used to do it all the time with the PVS14s we were issed back in the early 2000s during GWOT and there were no issues the NODs got more beat up in canteen pouches during daytime Ops more than they ever did attached to the weapon and still continued to work without issues. Make sure you have a capable optic and right mount for it.
