As per the manufacturer:
Insert polymer base with guide rod into the buffer tube.
Insert desired spring on the guide rod.
Insert the buffer over the spring.

Slightly push the back of the buffer assembly forward, then push out the cross pin. The back of the assembly will slide off the guide, followed by the recoil spring, then the buffer weight. I recommending adding a light coat of oil to the guide rod and spring. Reverse the order for reassembly.

The Model this was questioned on does not have a polymer guide rod or removable buffer.
