Guard screws spacing the same for a Pattern 14 as a Pattern 17? Thank You.

The spacing should be the same for the P14. However, if you need a stock for the P14 I recommend using the one at the link below.

what does military barrel channel stock mean?

These Boyds Hardwood Gunstocks P-17 stocks are cut for the original military barrel channel and use the original stepped style floor plate. You can ensure fitment by using the dimensions listed below:
Barrel Dimensions: Point A = 1 11/32" and Point B = 25/32"
Center to Center of Action Screws: 8"
Over All Length of Part: 31 1/2"
