my 870 express has a 24" barrel, will this 10 shot extention exceed past the barrel?

The 10-shot extension has an overall of 14.25". For a total length compared to your barrel, please measure where it attaches at the magazine cap.

No it will not unless it matches the magazine specifications for one of the following shotguns, "12ga - Remington 870/1100/11-87/Versa Max/V3 - 10-Shot". You will need to verify compatibility with Remington.
