This Choate Tool Mini-14 Side Folding Stock fits any Mini-14 with a serial number beginning with 181 and up.

Is the length of the rifle more than 26" when the stock is folded?

The overall length of a Ruger Mini 14 is around 38" with the Choate Tool Mini-14 Side Folding Stock folded it will reduce the length to around 28".

Yes, this is a full stock complete with folding stock portion and pistol grip/receiver/forend portions. All you need is the barreled Mini 14 action and trigger group from your old stock/rifle. If you don't want to remove them from your old stock, you can also order the Stock Reinforcement bracket and Forearm Liner making it a two minute job to switch from your old stock to the new Choate stock and back again. Your post is from 2020 but this may help other buyers. This folding stock locks up very tightly both in open and folded positions.
