The CMMG, Inc .300 AAC Blackout Barrel Sub-Assembly does not have a dimpled barrel. This barrel has a 0.750" gas journal and utilizes M4 feed ramps. It is machined from 4140 chrome moly steel with a nitride finish.

The buffer you need will depend on what length CMMG, Inc .300 AAC Blackout Barrel Sub-Assembly you get. However, I recommend using either an H2 or H3 Buffer.

Yes, theoretically you could use the CMMG, Inc .300 AAC Blackout Barrel Sub-Assembly in a Smith and Wesson M&P 15. I recommend you take your rifle to a gunsmith to ensure its done properly, if you choose to swap out barrels.
