On a soft-recoilling platform like an AR, you shouldn't have any problem.
This Crimson Trace 3.5x Battlesight w/Illuminated Hybrid BDC Reticle CTS-1100 is new.
Yes, the illumination is bright enough to see during the daylight with this Battlesight.
The BDC reticle inside is designed for 5.56x45mm, but with some experimentation you should be able to find where the sub tensions are hitting for the 9mm.
Yes, this will withstand recoil from a .308.
You can sight this in as close as you would like.
No. Its a 3.5x prism optic not a red dot. Even an ACOG can't do this. IMO co-witness stuff is vastly over rated. Ya, its nice on a red dot to verify zero but that is all you ever do with it. Double check your zero before leaving the wire. But since unless you are doing a job where you might actually brake something is a factor, who cares. This optic being magnified and it has a vary similar eye relief to an actual 4x ACOG meaning its not even really practical to put a back up sight behind it anyways. You can stick one in front, use 45 degree offset irons or even an off set reflex if you really think you need it. Alas, there is no way to mount a back up system ON the optic.
With all that said, this thing seems to be a real nice fixed mag mid cost Acog alternative. Assuming normal use can not brake the thing. But no, its not a red dot.
Yes, these are tested up to .50BMG so it should be fine.
