How cool does the S&W 500 barrel need to be before placing in the holster? Will the nylon melt?

The DeSantis Black Mamba Chest Holster will not have an issue with placing your revolver into the holster after firing. Nylon uses heat resistant resins that has one of the highest melting points of any other thermoplastic resins.

The holster will work with the S&W 500 8 3/8" barrel, however, it is not a scoped holster.

I just got my Desantis Black Mamba holster from Optic Planet. Not too sure how it is worn or where the two straps in the rear go. Instructions please.

– This is a Bandoleer rig. The shoulder strap goes over the back and the holster sits across the front of the chest. The leather strap on the back is meant to connect to the belt to keep the rig steady. The rubber band like strap is made to go over the hammer of the firearm to keep the firearm in the rig.

The DeSantis Black Mamba Chest Holster will not fit your Colt Anaconda. I would recommend using the Bianchi X15 Shoulder Holster, found using the following link:
