The sight is night vision capable on the lowest settings, coming from many years of experience using an EXPS2 under NODs. The advantage of the “NV” setting on the XPS3 and EXPS3 is the ability to transition from a high brightness setting immediately to a lower “NV” setting and back to higher brightness quickly. This really only applies for transitioning from daylight or a building with lights on immediately to low-light/no-light conditions. For example, raid on a building with lights on on the first floor, to a dark basement using NODs this would give you the ability to press one button and immediately be on a suitable “NV” setting without having to press the brightness down button multiple times.
