EGW bases for a Savage Axis will NOT fit on a Tikka. You would need a Tikka specific base such as SKU 44000, 54000, or 80500

Yes, this mount will fit any/all Savage Axis rifles. The hole spacings do not change due to caliber on this gun.

The 0 MOA Evolution Gun Works Hunter Savage Edge/Axis/Axis II Picatinny Rail should be just fine for your setup. MOA will provide the shooter with more elevation adjustment at much longer distances (700-1000 yards).

Is this rail drilled for the older axis or the newer axis

This mount is drilled out for #8 screws and comes with #8 screws and #6 wide head screws, so it fits both applications. It doesnt matter if you Axis is short action, long action, #6 screws, or #8 screws this mount will fit.

what is the measurement I need to no for the rail?

The only warning provide is in regards to the serial number. Savage Axis Rifles with serial numbers higher than N936371 are drilled and tapped for #8-40 screws and will not fit this rail.
