It depends on the rate of fire, but we highly recommend getting at least a front sight that is metal as to avoid any issues with the heat and a plastic front sight.

The gas block on my AR is right beneath my front sight rail. After 100 rounds straight through there was no melting at all on the FAB sights. They are very dense polymer and we'll built.
