How does this connect to the GL-Mag stock and is it rigid enough to shoot off of?

The FAB Defense MBA Mono-Pod Buttstock Add-on replaces the butt pad on the Fab Defenses GL-Mag buttstock. The mono-pod can be used as a rest while actively firing your rifle/pistol.

Unfortunately not. The only accessory listed for the GLR-16 buttstock is a check riser.
