It uses a rifle length gas tube.

It does take the Rifle length gas tube but I have found that many rifle length gas tubes are not standard. The Aero Precision gas tube at 15.25 paired with a superlative arms gas block and an Aero M5 was too short. I had to order an Armalite true AR-10 gas tube at 15 3/8". Breech to gas block shoulder is exactly 13.5". Hope this saves someone else some time.
