Will this work with a fixed stock AR-15?

No. The GG&G Receiver End Plate Sling Attachments will work for AR15/M16 style platform rifles with adjustable stocks. I'd recommend using the GG&G Looped Receiver End Plate Sling Adapter for Fixed Stocks found using the following link.

Will the "Right handed" one only have loop on the left side of the gun (when viewing it from the butt of the stock)?

That is correct, the only loop will be on the left.
