Does the lifetime warranty have restrictions such as do you have to be the original owner?

Yes the lifetime warranty is limited to the original owner, because we cannot be sure about the status of any used equipment that is subsequently resold by the original owner.

The KonusPro-Plus 6-24x50mm Rifle Scope features the Konus Lifetime Replacement Warranty. If you encounter a manufacturer's defect on any of these products, simply send it back to Konus and they will replace it for the life of the original owner.

Is the reticle center dot visible without being illuminated red or blue?

Yes, the reticle is engraved into the optic and should still be visible without the illumination being turned on.
