Yes, these would be amazing spotting scopes for that purpose and realistically any job. The Kowa spotting scopes are some of the best in their respective price ranges. The 880 series would technically provide you with a better image as they have a larger objective lens which would be best for high magnifications. The 770 series is still great, but the larger objective of the 880 will be better at top magnifications.
