Does it just simply replace the original buffer, using the same spring?

A
Answered by Vern Snodgrass, member, from GA, United States, on August 05, 2020

Yes, it replaces the original buffer, however I’d recommend the orange .308 spring Sprinco part ID 25762 for a 9mm SMG carbine along with this hydraulic buffer

How does it work?

A
Answered by Vern Snodgrass, member, from GA, United States, on August 05, 2020

It works like a hydraulic shock in order to keep the bolt at end of travel in both directions... It can help prevent bolt-bounce on a 9mm AR SMG.

It would work fine with your upper, but the buffer is too long for your HBPDW brace. The buffer tubes for PDW braces and stocks are very short and require a short buffer to fit and operate. This buffer requires a standard carbine buffer tube (7" inside length) to operate properly. For the PDW stocks use the Kynshot RB5004 2.5" .308 buffer and a Sprinco .308 carbine buffer spring (Orange). The RB5004 buffer is lighter than optimal for 9mm but will function with short barrels (5.5" or less) and still give a better feel than a conventional buffer.

Will this work in a CMMG Fastback buffer tube, with their 9mm RDB bolt?

Manufacturer Answer

Answered by Blitzkrieg Components, Manufacturer from FL, United States, on January 22, 2025

Yes, it will work with a Fastback buffer tube. However, for a 9mm CMMG with Radial Delayed Blowback, the bolt is longer than on a conventional blowback 9mm AR. So you need a shorter buffer than our 9mm models which are 4.0". You need to use the RB5000HP model buffer which is 3.25" long and 4.8 oz. It works great with the RDB 9mm guns. We also recommend an extra power .223 carbine spring with it.

will this work with my Foxtrot FM9 with a 5in. barrel?

Yes, this buffer is the right choice for the 5 inch 9mm barrels and works great in FM guns. Recommend an extra power .223 carbine spring like the Sprinco Red to go with it.

Will it function for 45 acp Caliber

Answered by Hunter, Gear Expert, from OH, United States, on May 24, 2022

The KynSHOT AR 9 mm Recoil Buffer was specifically designed for 9mm PCC's. However, it should work fine in a 45ACP PCC. I recommend using the Heavy Damped model at the link below.
