Is this for bolt action only or can it be used on an AR-15? If it can be used on rifles with clips will the laser be extracted or left in the barrel? — 2 Answers

Yes, it can be used in both bolt actions and AR style platforms, but you should be using this product without a magazine in the AR.

The Laserlyte cartridge has nothing on it that could be picked up by the extractor, so it stays put in the chamber. The suggestion to leave the magazine out will prevent you from pulling the charging handle far enough for the bolt to lock open (as it does after the last round is fired). Since it's possible to reset the trigger by pulling the charging handle half of the way back without the bolt locking open, you can try using it with a mag inserted.
