This section is for user reviews not movie reviews

Written on Oct 03, 2022

For some reason, the review proceeding mine is not about the ammunition at all. It's a review about YouTube videos that the user claims to have seen that were tests of this ammo in clear gel and ballistics gel. To make matters worse, after I watched every video on Youtube about Norma MHP, his claims that these rounds only expand half the time is patently false.

Best grip I've ever bought!

Written on Jul 01, 2021

And I can say that with confidence given that this was the FIFTH grip that I bought for my AR pistol. The original grip was an A2 POS - which stands for Piece of Styrene (plastic). Upgrading from that was really a no-brainer. Especially since I have rather large hands. Actually, they're more wide than big. If you've ever played the piano, then you'd know what I meant by saying that my hands have a four-octave reach.

My first upgrade was for an unbranded ergonomic grip that looked large enough. At $8.99, it was the best that injection molded polyester had to offer. Uh, not really. It was too small, too hard and too slippery when wet. Next up was a more expensive Magpul variety. I've put Magpul furniture on other weapons I've owned but never a grip. I was expecting a big improvement given the big jump in price, but it was only a modest improvement and still too small for my needs.

My third grip was one made by Bravo Company Manufacturing. BCM makes some very fine AR's and their accessories have also been of high quality. What attracted me to their grip, thoughh, was that they offered three different vertical angles from 15 degrees to the standard 25 degrees. I chose the 15 degree model which is more comfortable on AR pistols or rifles used in CQB (Close Quarters Combat such as for Home Defense). Well, I liked the angle but didn't like how it felt.

Don't they say that the third time is the charm? If they do, it's not about getting the right grip. Maybe the 4th time is the cha

I got two. One had issues with the follower getting stuck. Got the other one to work, though

Written on May 22, 2021

I'm recommending this product but with a caveat: reliability is a hit-or-miss proposition and you may get a lemon on your first go around. However, rather than throw in the towel, I would suggest trying another one in its place, because if that one works, then you'll have a mag that's a great, low-cost option to the Ruger BX-25 (often out-of-stock) that holds more than 25 rounds and one that also comes with a lifetime warranty.

I bought two of these after reading positive reviews elsewhere. Like some of the other complaints mentioned here, one of them had loading issues (hard to load after round 20, wouldn't load past 30 rounds and the follower got stuck when trying to unload it). I returned that one but was determined to make the remaining one work.

I got a MagLula loader and unloader for 10/22-style mags (really urge users to buy at least a loader if you want to save your thumbs because the spring in these gets progressively tighter and harder to load). Using the MagLula loader, I was able to fill this mag with 32 rounds of Federal Target ammo (standard velocity, lead round nose). I let it sit for two weeks before taking it out to the range.

I have one of the new Winchester Wildcat .22lR rifles that takes 10/22 mags. I first loaded up the 10-round rotary mag with this ammo to test the rifle. It worked great. I then tried the Pro-Mag magazine and only the 2nd round out of the first four rounds actually fired. The other three rounds only partially loaded in the chamber. Bu

Good light. Good price after coupon added

Written on Nov 26, 2018

Adding the 14% off coupon brought the price of this light down to $27.51. However, the $7.45 shipping charge brought the total up to about $35.00 - something to keep in mind. OTOH, you could say that the coupon knocked $4.48 off of the shipping charge making it less than $3.00.

Bottom line: it's really a good weapons light for a rifle and a pretty good price as well. I'm not a fan of the lights that have a cable and an on/off touchpad button. It's unnecessary if you mount this light close to where you grip the forend since the integrated on/off switch is easy to operate.

NOW, about the so-called need to cycle through the different modes of the light. This is something that is an {unnecessary} issue surrounding just about all of the low-cost LED lights on the market. You don't have to cycle through the modes if you depress the on/off button firmly and all the way in to turn the brightest setting on and off. Pressing the button too lightly is what causes it to cycle through its other modes. If you do it this way, you'll never have to worry again about not going to the brightest setting from the off position with a single button press.

I highly recommend this light for use with targets up to 20 yards away. Beyond that range, the light drops off rather quickly.
