The red dot uses a CR2032 and features the MST (motion sensor technology) and will automatically power off after 5 minutes of inactivity and will power on again when moved. The battery will last 24 continuous hours at the highest brightness setting, but on the lower settings should reach over 1000 hours with the MST technology. And it does still have their push button activation and adjustment for the illumination.

I found the answers. 1000 hours on setting 4. BIG BUT, it has an automatic shutoff, to standby mode, after 5 minutes of rest. So the life will be much longer than 1000 hours if it is not moved. Riding in a vehicle will activate the dot, so it may be shut off by holding the button down for 5 seconds.
