The Leupold ScopeSmith Lens Shade for Adjustable Objective Rifle Scopes should fit that scope. From what information I could find you will need Leupold ScopeSmith Lens Shade model number 56187 or model number 56190.

will this fit a VX-5HD 44mm leupold scope

This one will not, but you can use the Leupold Alumina 3 in. VX-6 Lens Shade, which will fit on all Leupold VX-5HD, VX-6, VX-6HD and Mark 5HD riflescopes. Get the proper objective size and you should be all good.

These are designed to fit Leupold scopes and it is unlikely they will properly fit a Redfield whether it be due to the inner diameter of the objective housing or the thread pitch.

The specs of the 50mm sunshade are going to be the same as you see listed here; unfortunately, there is no additional information that can be provided. The 2.5 and 4 inch 50mm Lens Shades can be threaded together to create custom lengths. Fits all Leupold 50mm objective riflescopes manufactured after 2004.

The Leupold Riflescope Lens Shade fits all Leupold objective scopes made after 2004. Get the proper objective size and you should be all good.

Alumina Covers and Sunshades are only compatible with Leupold scopes made after 2004 and they are threaded on both sides.

will the 50 mm shade fit a earlier 1990's model 3 x 9 x50 mm variex II c

Unfortunately these will only fit Leupold scopes manufactured after 2004. They made changes in the scope construction at that point that prevent newer accessories from working with older model scopes.
