What is the center to center on mounting holes ?

I spoke with Marlin Technical Support at 800-225-9626, and they indicate that the hols spacing is .830" center to center.

Does the tang fit the marlin 1895gs without the need for further Gunsmithing? Thanks

The Lyman The No. 2 Marlin Tang Sight is designed to fit Marlin Models 336, 1894, 1895 and 30 series lever action rifles. It should work with that model 1895.
