How do you keep the handle from detaching every time you pull the slide back????

This backplate is made of steel so it can take the stress of operation.

Will this item fit Gen 5 Glock or is it just for Gen 1-4??

I just spoke with the manufacturer @ Fab Defense, they said it WILL fit my glock 19x gen 5, but was NOT sure It would fit my glock 44 .22L.R., They said if it didnt fit you can send It back, if it fits my 19x it will fit other gen 5s

Yes, the FAB Defense Glock Charging Handle is compatible with all Glock pistols with the exception of the Glock 42 and 43.

How does the charging handle attach to the baseplate? Does it require tools to change sides?

This kit is a 3 piece kit: backplate, block that holds the handle, and the handle. To change sides, you should only have to unscrew the handle and swap sides.
