Will this work for a norinco sks type 56

The NcStar gas tube is too large for the gas piston to properly seal. I've tried the original gas piston for my Norinco, a Tapco, a Polytech, and a Precision Prototype & Machine all with the same results.

Can you remove the entire gas tube, having issues finding one by itself?

The manufacturer does not state if the handguard and gas tube can be completely separated. I recommend contacting the manufacturer for that information.

Can the entire rail be removed, and just use the gas tube with stock setup?

The rail sections on the side of the NcStar SKS Gas Tube Scope Mount can be removed but from what information I could find the top rails cannot be removed.

The NcStar SKS Gas Tube Scope Mount w/ Side Rails is manufactured just slightly longer by a few thousandths, so that it can be hand fitted to the various manufacturers of the SKS rifles. It may require some fitting but should work.

Yes. The NcStar SKS Gas Tube Scope Mount w/ Side Rails will fit the SKS and all the various manufacturers that make versions of the SKS. Some hand fitting may be required for a secure fit.
