The NcStar gas tube is too large for the gas piston to properly seal. I've tried the original gas piston for my Norinco, a Tapco, a Polytech, and a Precision Prototype & Machine all with the same results.

Mine arrived just a few days ago (late May 2023). I had to hone the first two inches of the gas tube bore to even get my 1970 Norinco gas piston to go in. After that I polished the same area. It works now and suction with a thumb over the end will actually stop the piston from falling vertically. I had to remove a good 1/16+ inch of length from the rear for proper fit.

The paint inside the tube has to be removed, but once complete, it will work fine. I suspect the Gen 2 (this one) is tighter than the old gen 1s.
