Is the recoil of a savage 30-06 to much for this scope

The Night Owl Optics NightShot 3x NV Riflescope is designed to withstand the recoil of .30 rifle calibers and lower, non magnum. So it should be fine with your Savage rifle.

You could mount the Night Owl Optics NightShot 3x NV Rifle Scope to a Savage Axis in 30-06 as long as you have a picatinny rail to mount it properly.
