I understand it goes around the trigger guard but how does it get tightened down I would imagine it would wiggle loose

The weapon light is held firmly on the firearm via the trigger guard molded internal channel by three stainless steel Allen cap-head screws.

will this fit a springfield hellcat?

This Nightstick Rechargeable Weapon Light w/Green Laser is designed to work with Glock models and will not work for the Springfield Hellcat. The model at the link below will work for the Springfield Hellcat.

Would this fit a Glock 44?

The Nightstick Rechargeable Weapon Light w/Green Laser will not fit a Glock 44. However, the light/laser listed below should fit just fine on a Glock 44.

Yes. The Nightstick Rechargeable Weapon Light w/Green Laser locks around the trigger guard for use with Glocks that do not have a rail.
