Why would this not be good for distances? Say 100 yards. And would this clear the rear sight on a CZ 457 Jaguar with normal rings?

The Nikko Stirling Diamond 3-12x42mm Rifle Scope will function fine for most distances. The reticle is a simple illuminated dot that does not use hash/holdover marks that would make it easier to shoot targets at further distances.

Would this be a good scope for a 6.5 Grendel

Much of this would depend on the intended use. For hunting at short to medium ranges, this would be a good optic. Long distance it would not be however.
