Is it possible to have this feeder drop feed instead of throwing it?

Hi, No, this feeder only throws corn via the spinplate. If you are looking for a feeder that drops feed, I would suggest taking a look at the Shakedown (item# 74000) and Shakedown XL (item# 73500) feeders. These units are adjustable to feed anything from rice bran to corn (just nothing sticky should be used), and they drop the feed straight down from the hopper.

Hi Tav, Item# 00900 is a hopper lid w/clamp that can be used on your Tomahawk Hanger barrel as a replacement.

Is it directional or does it spread the feed 360 degrees?

The Tomahawk VL Hanging Feeder will spread feed 360 degrees with 1 to 4 feedings per day.

This unit does not come with a battery. It utilizes a 6v lantern battery.
