Currently, the system is designed only for use with direct gas impingement system.
I have the superlative arms piston kit. I see no issue with mating this components. The superlative piston holds the same specs as a gas tube in diameter and length. As mentioned in another comment, the spring is located at the gas block. The only possible conflict would be with the gas block clearing the internal diameter of the proprietary handguard. Though, it is very likely this guard would not be an issue for that given the low profile nature.
Although I’m not positive about it because I haven’t tried it yet I’m fairly certain that the Superlative piston system with the adjustable, micro gas block should work because the return spring for the piston rod is in the gas block instead of on the front of the reciever. It’s just a guess but I’ve done about 8 months worth of research and have started ordering parts to find out so I’ll let you know how it goes. Wish me luck.
If you use the Superlative Piston conversion with the adjustable gas block, then the piston spring is in the gas block and all that passes through the upper receiver is the piston rod. Just the same as a gas tube. Issue is the handguard. I had to cut my handguard back past the gas block for everything to work properly.
