Would medium height rings on a ar flat top platform be a good way to mount this scope ? I.e. would med . be high enough ?

You would need rings from rail to center of the rings being a minimum of 1.1". Some medium rings do reach this height though others do not.

i have a pfi rr evo 22lr just want to ask if its possible to be used for Ar15 556.

Yes, that would work on a 5.56 AR-15 as well, the drop markings would just have to be recalculated with a ballistics calculator for the different ballistics of the 5.56 round.
