The Radian Weapons Talon-GI 45/90 Safety Selector can not be used in place of a 3 position selector.

Yes, the MCX Virtus is compatible with AR15 style selector switches and will be compatible with this Radian Weapons Talon-GI 45/90 Safety Selector.

Will this work on a composite lower such as a S&W M&P 15-22 or will the detent groove not line up properly?

The Radian Weapons Talon-GI 45/90 Safety Selector will not work with the M&P15-22. Radian Weapons makes a specific Radian Weapons Talon-GI 45/90 Safety Selector for the M&P15-22 but we currently do not have it available.

Yes, the Radian Weapons Talon-GI 45/90 Safety Selector is longer than a Mil-Spec safety selector.
