How are you supposed to use the molle Velcro on the back when it is stitched horizontally? I have only seen it stitched vertically.

That patch can either hold velcro items or items with a clip.

Can this system be used over a helmet when needed and then transfered to a different type or color helmet then back to just wearing it on your head?

A question about this system; can it fold down (hardware added onto it would hinder some folding)? Would be great for EP...conceal it!

While the headset is malleable, it will not fold down easily.

No, this is only the harness. The shroud/mount will need to be acquired separately.
