It has the reviews it does because Shadow Systems makes high quality products and this is labeled as a "completion kit" because it is all of the small parts of the slide assembly needed to complete a slide when the major components have been chosen. The barrel, slide and recoil guide rod are all major components of the slide. The image shows what is included and the included parts are clearly listed.
