IF you talk to SHIELD, they recommend only 2-3 products (NOT lens cleaning stuff or microfiber for some reason).
They go into detail about this in the instructions, on their website, and in an instructional youtube video--and you can message them on facebook about it.
I had a hard time finding the cleaning solvent they recommended (electrical WD40), but they told me an alternative I found on amazon.
Shield UK emailed me that now all of their lenses have a hard polymer coating like the new RMS-W to help prevent scratching. This was a recent change, so old stock may not have the coating.
I have had two of these sights and have used cleaning materials made specifically for camera lens and optics. BUT these things scratch easily. Seems like if you look at them hard enough they'll scratch.
