This SIG SAUER Romeo-MSR Red Dot Sight and Juliet5 Micro Magnifier Combo would work fine with your Ranger 22 but would only provide a maximum of 5x magnification and a single 2 MOA red dot. If you do not want to have a crosshair reticle, then I see no issues with using this combo. However, having a crosshair reticle will provide holdover and windage calls/holds that can be helpful when shooting at a distance. On top of that, rimfire scope have etched reticles meaning you don't need to rely on a battery to be able to see your reticle. I would recommend the Leupold FX-I Rimfire 4x28mm Rifle Scope (linked below) as another potential option.

The SIG SAUER Romeo-MSR Red Dot Sight does not use a shake awake function. It is turned on and off by using the brightness adjustment knob located at the top of the red dot.
