Would this combo be sufficient for 100 yards on a Christensen 22 Ranger with Pic. rail? or should I consider the more expensive combo? — 2 Answers

This SIG SAUER Romeo-MSR Red Dot Sight and Juliet5 Micro Magnifier Combo would work fine with your Ranger 22 but would only provide a maximum of 5x magnification and a single 2 MOA red dot. If you do not want to have a crosshair reticle, then I see no issues with using this combo. However, having a crosshair reticle will provide holdover and windage calls/holds that can be helpful when shooting at a distance. On top of that, rimfire scope have etched reticles meaning you don't need to rely on a battery to be able to see your reticle. I would recommend the Leupold FX-I Rimfire 4x28mm Rifle Scope (linked below) as another potential option.

It would although it depends on whether you want an etched sight so it works without power just as well as it does with power. I have the Romeo & Juliet 4, 4x magnification with no etched reticle and a single red dot with different brightness levels but I can say this without question and mines shake awake so batteries die quicker... I've never had a battery die but any movement and it's awake. It's also a very VERY durable red dot and magnifier. Mine has been dropped and slammed around and I cringe when it happens but I mounted them over a year ago, have put at least 10k rounds through the rifle and both still are going strong and I've never lost zero. I can shooting and without moa lines I can use judgement learned through practice to hit tight groups at 100 yards with no magnification and I've not been able to shoot beyond 500 yards I can do it quite well with 4x max and my single dot with no lines
