This is only guaranteed to work for SLR gas blocks as other manufacturers may have different screw spacing.
The numbers are the jig should face forward toward the muzzle end of the barrel.
I use a 5/32 135° bit and drill until the entire diameter has broken the surface, stopping before there is a vertical "wall." This works out to be about .030-.035" deep. It doesn't take much.
The manufacturer does not state where the SLR Dimpling Jig Gas Block is made. For that information I recommend contacting SLR Rifleworks.

Most standard AR15 barrels use a .750 in Gas Journal Diameter.
You would need a 5/32in drill bit.
It is not recommended, the dimples could end up slightly off, and accuracy is critical.
The difference between the units is the diameter of the jig. Different AR barrels have require different diameter gas blocks. You would need to get a SLR Dimpling Jig that matches the diameter of gas block that is required for your AR barrel.
The required 5/32" drill bit must be purchased separately and SLR actually offers a kit with the drill bit, we unfortunately do not currently offer it.
