What are the plates rated at? level IV?

Spartan calls it level III+ AR550 armor, which defeats higher velocity threats such as XM193, M855, and M80.

Spartan Armor Systems carriers use the one size fits most standard, and will adjust to fit anyone within the range of a 38" to a 48" chest.
