That depends entirely on the side charging set up. Most side charging uppers have an extended cut on the ejection port to accommodate the charging of the bolt carrier group. If you have a side charging bolt carrier group that only requires the length of the ejection port to cycle the firearm, then it should likely work, but again it is entirely dependent on what set up you are using. I would recommend you confirm compatibility with the manufacturer of your side charging set up.
