What defines a model as DEMO?

DEMO models are models that are opened out of their original packaging but are in good working or and condition so they can be sold at a discounted price.

Steiner doesn't specify what type glass is used with the Steiner T536 Reticle 7.62 Cal Battle Sights. They do state that they use an improved multi-coating treatment on the lenses.
